So, the illusions post got you. None of you believed the Checkerboard Shadow one… so, here’s the proof:

The dark segments surrounding Segment B make Segment A look far lighter in shade. However, I believe that segments A & B are not exactly the same shade and that there is a subtle change in shade at some point during the transition.
the only one that seems to work for me is the second one. Perhaps my brain is far too advanced for this sort of thing. Or maybe underdeveloped?
